Look at all the stuff I made for my friends and family! |
I made this little tree for myself. I love Christmas and I like to make something holiday-themed while I watch the Thanksgiving parade every year. I mistakenly thought I could whip up a whole 16" Christmas tree and attach a million sequins to it during that magical three hour period. It ended up taking me a whole week, but I absolutely love it and it was so cute on my work table, surrounded by wrapped gifts that completely dwarfed it.
I made these letters for my newlywed sister and her husband. She really likes monogrammed things, so I immediately thought of her when I saw the patterns for these 3-D crochet letters.
My stepmom also got married last year, and I wanted to make something for her that represented this new chapter of her life and welcomed her new husband into our family. It was the perfect opportunity for me to practice my hand-lettering and sign painting.
My dad moved to Colorado last year (it was a super busy year for my family!) so I made these matching hat-and-scarf sets for him and his lady friend. They're actually having real winter weather there, so it seemed like a useful gift.
I made my mom this picture book about all of her pets and it made her cry. I think that's the goal of any creative gift, right? I'd never ordered anything other than prints from Shutterfly and I was really pleased with the quality of this book and the variety of customizing options available.
I also made her this little scarf thing, which was my first attempt at crochet lace. It was a lot easier than I'd imagined. Things are generally less intimidating than I think they are. It's silly.
This is my oldest friend and his ridiculously adorable family. I got to hang out with these dudes on Christmas, so I made them all matching elf hats.
I love the tree! The sequins really make it. And the shawl looks so nice! And the elf hats! It's all so good. You've been busy as a bee! Good job
ReplyDeleteThanks, Philip! That's really sweet!
