Last month, I went to the IX Art Park in Charlottesville and it was pretty fantastic.
The 17 acre arts playground opened in May of 2014 after raising over $20,000 on Kickstarter. The goal seems to be to inspire any and all creativity, with plans for adding more art, public gardens, and community kitchens to the already impressive collection.
There was so much to see! At first, I was a little overwhelmed, but I took a deep breath and got a grip. |
I went inside this little stick fort. It had lights and seats inside and I bet it's pretty neat at night. |
This mural covered in plants is so beautiful! |
This place was so inspiring. |
The Tinkersmiths Makerspace |
I saw on O Wonderful, Wonderful's blog that this thing has a colorful patchwork awning! I was already smitten with this whimsical rolling tea party but that makes it even better. |
The Love Butt - 14 ft tall and 1600 lbs, driven across the country by comedian Kurt Braunohler as part of a TV pilot |
I'd read about Before I Die... walls before and was really excited to see one! |
It rained the morning I was there, so the only entry you can see clearly is mine. |
My favorite fancy internet meme dog was there! |
This is my mom! She really loved the tiny library. |
I have no idea what this neat thing is, but I like it. |
